Rows of new Nissan SUVs and cars at a dealership

Nissan is recalling more than 443,000 cars in the U.S. because of a defect in certain engine parts that could lead to serious, and possible dangerous, consequences. The defect could cause damage to the engine or engine failure while driving, which increases the chances of an accident, said the federal National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The recall involves certain model years of best-selling vehicles such as the Nissan Altima and Rogue and Infiniti’s QX50 and QX55. Though the defect is expected to occur in only a small percentage of the recalled vehicles, the hazard warranted federal action and a formal recall announcement.
