1500 Ram
Ram is an American automobile manufacturer that has its roots in Dodge’s pickup truck series. The first Ram appeared in the 1981 model year, and over the years several trucks used the Ram name, including the Ram 1500, which up until 2011 is referred to as the Dodge Ram 1500. The 1994 redesign of the Ram 1500 introduced a taller front grille and a semitruck-style hood that helped shape the pickup’s current modern image and identity.
In 2009, Ram separated from Dodge and became its own pickup truck brand, and the Ram 1500 is now the primary light-duty truck sold by Ram. The Ram 1500 is not discontinued. Ram currently lists the pickup as part of its 2026 model year lineup.
Ram 1500 targets customers who want a half-ton pickup with more range than a utilitarian-style truck. The model is especially popular with large contractors or contractors who own one to three properties and towing customers, as well as rural families needing a light vehicle with an open cargo bed. The truck also appeals to consumers wanting the look and feel of a full-size pickup truck, but need something that can be used easily as a daily-driven passenger vehicle.

- Side-curtain air bag recall 25V824 includes select 2019 model year Ram 1500 Classic, Ram 3500, and Ram 2500 vehicles manufactured from 2018 to 2020 that are identified as having defective side-curtain air bag inflators that could rupture and allow metal fragments to enter the passenger compartment.
- Manufacturing defects may cause damage due to rupture of the inflators on certain 2018 Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 models in the U.S. as determined under Recall 25V592 for 2018 Ram trucks.
- Recall 25V298 for select 2019-2024 Ram 1500 models, FMVSS 208, possible loss of A/C and an improperly connected driver-side air bag.
- Recall 25V231 involves the 2025 Ram 1500. Vehicle owners report that their vehicles experience an issue with the tire inflation message being incorrect because of improper functionality of the instrument cluster software. An estimated 10,396 vehicles are reported as possibly affected by this defect.
- Recall 25V010 applies to certain 2016-2019 model year Ram 1500 trucks and other related Ram models manufactured between January and March 2018 due to a defect that may cause the inflatable side curtain to rupture.
- Certain 2025 Ram 1500 pickups are recalled under headlight recall number 24V942 due to the use of erroneous headlight module software. The malfunctioning headlights may create a safety violation under the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards 108 Lighting.
- Recall 24V794 is issued on certain 2025 Ram 1500 vehicles due to a defect in the front wheel hub encoder ring. Damaged encoder rings may affect vehicle performance or deactivate electronic stability control, which could increase the risk of loss of control. According to a report from Reuters, this recall includes 33,777 Ram 1500 trucks.
- Recall 24V754 applies to certain 2020-2023 Ram 1500 Classic trucks that have heated trailer tow mirrors, some driver-side mirror glass may detach from the body of the vehicle, causing impaired rearview visibility. The recall is for only vehicles equipped with heated tow mirrors.
- Self-canceling turn signals are the reason for recall 24V729. The vehicles involved in this recall include certain 2023 and 2024 model year Ram 1500s where the self-canceling feature can malfunction, leading to a violation of FMVSS 108.
- NHTSA Campaign No. 24V653 recalls certain 2019 and 2021-2024 Ram 1500 DT trucks because ABS software may malfunction and deactivates the electronic stability control system. 1,227,808 potential vehicles are contained in this recall.
- Recall 24V437 covers one 2022 Ram 1500 Classic with a rearview camera wiring harness issue. The vehicle may have a shorted wiring harness that may prevent the rearview image from being displayed.
- Recall 24V413 applies to certain 2023 model year MY Ram pickup trucks 1500, 2500, and 3500. The reason for this is that there is an insufficient weld on each Transmission Control Unit TCU, which could leak fluid onto electrical connections causing the vehicle to lose drive and/or park.
- Recall number 24V199 is issued for the following vehicles: 2023 to 2024 Ram 1500s and many other Stellantis vehicles due to an issue in the steering column control module being improperly welded. An improper weld may prevent the driver-side air bag from deploying during an accident.

- Recall 23V264 involves some 2022 Ram 1500 vehicles that may have missing B-pillar impact sensors. Without these sensors, air bags may not deploy or deployment may be delayed due to the impact of a collision on the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
- The recall covers certain Ram 1500 with a 3.0-liter diesel engine that are made during 2022 and 2023 due to possible high pressure fuel pump failure, leading to engine stall. The recall includes 45,832 total, 26,671 Ram 1500.
- Recall 23V265 affects select 2021 Ram 1500s equipped with the 5.7-liter eTorque engine because the software controlling the powertrain control module may cause an improper fuel mixture and stall the engine.
- Recall 23V059 for specific 2021 to 2023 Ram 1500 and 2023 Ram 2500 pickup trucks refers to the potential for the rearview image to not appear when the vehicle is in reverse. This issue is due to a malfunctioning Trailer Reverse Steering Control Module in the affected vehicles. Affected vehicles receive a software upgrade to fix this issue.
- 22V407 Recall of Certain 2022 Ram 1500 and Related Trucks With GVWR Under 10,000 lb. Radio software may cause the rearview image to not display FMVSS 111.

- Recall 21V918 applies to certain 2021 Ram 1500 vehicles that experience issues with their trailer reverse steering control module preventing them from displaying a rearview image.
