Hummer
The Hummer brand is owned by GM and is an American off road vehicle line that is now sold under the GMC parent company based in Detroit, Michigan. Previously, there are three gas only models, H1, H2, and H3, but now the brand is reintroduced as a line of GMC HUMMER EV models, which are electrified vehicles intended for a rugged outdoor lifestyle and distinctive styling.
Information About Hummer
Originally known as Hummer, the vehicle is essentially a civilian version of the military HMMWV (or Humvee). The original production model of the Hummer is manufactured by AM General and is sold in 1992, and it is eventually referred to as the H1. In 1999, GM acquires the rights from AM General to market Hummer vehicles and subsequently produces two additional Hummer models, the H2 and H3, but discontinues all Hummer production in 2010. After discontinuation, the Hummer name makes a comeback in the 2020s as an all electric vehicle sold by GMC, called the GMC Hummer EV.
Used vehicle buyers are drawn to Hummer due to their image and performance as a large, unique SUV or truck with great off road capability, especially the H1, unique styling unlike any other SUV or truck for the resale market, and excellent resale value. Hummer shoppers usually prefer to buy clean, unmodified vehicles in a popular trim because buyers look for proof of warranty, since the H1, H2, and H3 all have high diesel mileage costs. The cost of tires, brakes, and suspension also increases over time, and it costs you more to own one than to drive one.
Hummer buyers seek out units that are in good condition and have proven they have been taken care of by the previous owner by requesting complete service history, verifying frames have no rust, confirming that the 4WD system is functioning properly, and confirming that the interior electronics are intact. The highest demand nameplates for Hummer are the H1 for collectors, the H2 and H3 for shoppers wishing to purchase a statement SUV, and the Hummer EV to attract tech oriented customers who still desire a high level of presence.
